A boiler service isn't just a quick "glance over". It is a critical safety check to prevent Carbon Monoxide leaks and ensure efficiency. An annual service is also usually required to keep your manufacturer's warranty valid.
The 10-Point Checklist
When you book a NasGo Gas Safe engineer, here is what they check:
- Visual Inspection: Checking for corrosion or leaks.
- Flue Analysis: Using an analyzer to check safe emissions.
- Gas Pressure Check: Ensuring the boiler is receiving correct pressure.
- Condensate Trap: Cleaning out debris.
- Safety Devices: Testing safety cut-out mechanisms.
- Seal Integrity: Checking internal seals are airtight.
- Burner Cleaning: Removing carbon deposits from the burner.
- Heat Exchanger: Checking for cracks or blockages.
- Expansion Vessel: Checking pressure charge.
- Ventilation: Ensuring the boiler has adequate air supply.
